MCU life tip: The risk of not doing it

Most people make decisions the wrong way. They consider the advantages and disadvantages of doing something. That’s fine. Then they tend to focus on the risks of doing it.

It’s the risk part that’s wrong. They go both ways. And the risk of not doing something daring can outweigh the risk of doing it. Missing an opportunity is a gamble you take whenever you’re cautious.

Don’t forget

So, when deciding whether to do something, weigh the advantages against the disadvantages. Then, don’t forget to weigh the risks of not doing it against the risks of doing it.

If you only think about risks in terms of what might go wrong if you say “yes,” you’ll often decide poorly. — MC
